Penn State men’s basketball: Forward commits to Nittany Lions

St. Mary’s Ryken (Md.) forward Deividas Zemgulis announced his verbal commitment to Penn State on Twitter on Monday night, giving the Nittany Lions their second commit in the Class of 2015.

Zemgulis, a 6-foot-6 forward from Lithuania, is a three-star recruit, according to Scout.com. He averaged 11 points per game and hit 60 3-pointers to help St. Mary’s Ryken to an 18-14 record last season.

Zemgulis also averaged 5.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for Lithuania in the U16 European Championships last August.

Zemgulis joins 6-foot-9 center Mike Watkins of Math Civics and Sciences Charter School in Philadelphia in Penn State’s 2015 class.
