Penn State men’s basketball: Nittany Lions land point guard

Josh Reaves, a point guard ranked among the top 120 players in the 2015 recruiting class, announced his oral commitment to Penn State via Twitter on Wednesday night.

Reaves, a 6-foot-4, 185-pounder from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, attended camp last week at Penn State. He said on Twitter, “I am truly blessed to announce that I have committed to Penn State University. #WeAre #PennState Thank you everyone for your support.”

Reaves is ranked as high as the No. 71 player in his class by ESPN. Rivals ranks him at No. 119 and 247Sports has him at No. 120.

Reaves also had offers from Boston College, Georgetown, Maryland, Temple, Villanova, Virginia Commonwealth and Wake Forest. He joins forwards Michael Watkins (John Bartram High School, Philadelphia) and Deividas Zamgulis (St. Mary’s Ryken High School in Maryland) as part of Penn State’s Class of 2015.

He was part of an Oak Hill team that finished 35-4 last season.
