After their standout performances at the Penn State National meet last weekend, the Nittany Lions’ Darrell Hill and Brannon Kidder picked up weekly Big Ten honors on Monday.
Hill captured Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week after his top throw of 67 feet, 31/2 inches in the shot put. The toss broke the school and meet records, and also ranks second in the nation.
Kidder earned Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 800-meter Invite run in 1 minute, 47.86 seconds, and also helped the distance medley relay team to a runner-up finish in 9:28.36. The times rank fourth and second, respectively, in the nation.
Penn State hosts the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup on Friday and Saturday.
