Penn State men’s basketball: Nittany Lions to face Colorado in Las Vegas

The Penn State men’s basketball team will face Colorado in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 22, Penn State announced Friday.

The winner of the matchup will take on the winner of the Southern Methodist-Kent State game at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 23. The losers of each game will meet at 9 p.m.

Each school will play four games in the tournament, with the first two at on-campus sites before the final two rounds at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The Nittany Lions will host two games against opponents yet to be announced.

Penn State’s game against Colorado will mark the second time the programs have met. Colorado beat Penn State 29-26 in Hershey in 1939.

The other matchups set for Dec. 22 are Hampton vs. Nicholls State, and Canisius vs. Louisiana Monroe.
