After a season that featured a Big Ten title and a trip to the Rose Bowl, Penn State students are onboard for the Nittany Lions’ 2017 campaign.
The student section sold out more than 21,000 tickets in 89 minutes this week, Penn State announced on Thursday afternoon.
It took seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen only 20, 10, 44 and 15 minutes, respectively, to sell out their allotment.
“To sell out 21,000 tickets in such a short period of time shows that we have an awesome student section,” Penn State coach James Franklin said in a statement. “It is a true advantage to have those students going crazy in the south end zone and is one of the things that makes Penn State so special. We can’t wait to get our family back together in Beaver Stadium this fall.”
Members of the student section have a solid home schedule to look forward to. The Nittany Lions face in-state rival Pitt, host Michigan for the annual White Out and welcome Big Ten foes Nebraska, Rutgers and Indiana.
