Penn State announced changes to the pricing structure for Penn State football tickets on Wednesday, including a new $200 tier for some upper level seats.
Seats in sections EGU, ECU, WGU and WCU in Beaver Stadium that required a $400 donation this year will require $200 next season. Seats in sections EFU, EDU, WFU and WDU that were $600 previously will now only require a $400 donation.
The changes will affect more than 11,500 seats.
“The changes this year are put into place with two goals in mind. One — offer our fans additional, more appealing options in order to maximize the number of Nittany Lion fans coming to Beaver Stadium and cheering on our team each week, and two — grow the revenues needed to maintain, in an increasingly difficult climate, the excellent competitive and classroom performance that Penn Staters everywhere expect,” Penn State’s acting athletic director David Joyner said in a press release.
The university and Nittany Lion Club also unveiled the “One Team Commitment,” which requires a fiveyear commitment in which Penn State fans will earn NLC bonus points each year they donate in addition to 50 NLC bonus points at the end of the term.
“Our fans have been tremendously supportive over the past several months,” coach Bill O’Brien said in the press release.
“And they’ve already made a difference for our kids this season. We need that going forward, because every student on every one of our teams deserves the best Penn State has to offer.”
