Penn State added its first defensive lineman prospect to its next recruiting class when Antoine White verbally committed to the Nittany Lions on Monday.
White’s commitment, which is non-binding until he signs a National Letter of Intent next February, was first reported by multiple recruiting services.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds, White, who is entering his senior season at Millville High School (N.J.), is the largest athlete to join the 2014 class and is the 13th commitment overall. He is the first commitment in the current class from New Jersey, following defensive end Garrett Sickels, offensive lineman Brendan Mahon and linebacker Brandon Bell, who represented the Garden State in this year’s freshman class.
Geographically, Penn State has recruited players from eight states — North Carolina, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey and Michigan — in the current class.
