The 42nd Annual Big Ten Football Media Days begin Wednesday and continue on Thursday in Chicago, where conference officials, coaches and players will be on hand for interviews both days.
Bill O’Brien, entering his second season as Penn State’s coach, will represent the Nittany Lions along with linebacker Glenn Carson, safety Malcolm Willis and offensive guard John Urschel. O’Brien, who took part in his first Media Days last year, will address reporters at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday and will then take part in roundtable sessions with members of the media.
Numerous topics are expected to be addressed including a potential movement for the major conferences to break away from the NCAA as college football’s sanctioning body has come under fire. Commissioners from other major conferences including John Swofford (ACC), Mike Slive (SEC) and Bob Bowlsby (Big 12) have all expressed levels of disdain for recent NCAA policies and procedures at their conferences’ respective media days.
Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany is scheduled to address the press at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.
