Redshirt sophomore linebacker Ben Kline has been elected president of Penn State's Uplifting Athletes chapter and will lead Nittany Lion football student-athletes in 2014.
With a senior-laden group of officers departing, Kline will take the reins of one of the nation’s most successful and recognized student-athlete fundraisers, the Penn State Lift For Life. Kline takes over for senior offensive lineman and outgoing president Eric Shrive, the 2013 Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion.
Joining Kline among the officers are sophomore running back Deron Thompson (vice president), freshman tight end Adam Breneman (secretary), sophomore tight end Jesse James (director of marketing), sophomore running back Akeel Lynch (compliance manager) and freshman tight end Brent Wilkerson (director of fundraising).
Former players and current Penn State students Joe Marvin (treasurer) and Bryce Wilson (director of operations) also are among the new officers.
