Penn State football: Mauti, Arrington to participate on signing day

Former Penn State standouts LaVar Arrington and Michael Mauti will join coach James Franklin as speakers at Penn State’s “The Signature Event” to welcome new recruits to the football program.

The event begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday and tickets are available for $5. Penn State students get in free.

Franklin is expected to talk about all of Penn State’s incoming recruits as well as the five early enrollees who are currently working out with the team. Receiver De’Andrew Thompkins, quarterback Michael O’Connor, offensive lineman Chasz Wright and defensive tackles Antoine White and Tarow Barney enrolled in January.
