Penn State football: James named to Mackey Award midseason watch list

Penn State tight end Jesse James was named to the John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List announced Monday.

The award is given annually to the nation’s best tight end.

James is tied for third on the team with 18 catches for 203 yards. He leads Penn State with two touchdown catches, hauling in both in a win over Akron.

The John Mackey Award Selection Committee chooses the winner, who will be announced Dec. 10. The award semifinalists and finalists will be announced in late November.
