Five former Penn State football players will officially begin their quests to earn full-time jobs in the NFL over the weekend.
Defensive back Adrian Amos, kicker Sam Ficken, linebacker Mike Hull, tight end Jesse James and offensive tackle Donovan Smith will all participate in the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The group of Nittany Lions is the largest since Penn State sent six players to the 2010 Combine and Penn State’s five invitees is second among Big Ten teams to only Michigan State’s six.
Smith, Ficken and James are expected to work out with their position groups on Friday while running backs, quarterbacks and receivers will workout on Saturday. Hull will drill with the rest of the linebackers on Sunday and Amos will workout with defensive backs on Monday. All workouts begin at 9 a.m. and the NFL Network will carry all workouts live.
