Penn State football: Franklin to serve as panelist at MIT analytics conference

Penn State coach James Franklin will participate at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference held Friday and Saturday in Boston.

Franklin will be a panelist on “The Formula to Win: College Football Analytics” on Friday afternoon. The panel will talk about the first year of the College Football Playoff, how they expect college football to evolve, scheduling strategies and the technologies programs use to gain an advantage.

The panel will also include: CNN anchor and reporter Rachel Nichols, NCAA executive vice president for regulatory affairs Oliver Luck, ESPN college football analyst Tom Luginbill and analytics director for SB Nation Bill Connelly.
