The Penn State football team will meet Rutgers under the lights once again this fall.
In the first schedule announcement for the coming season, the meeting between the Nittany Lions and Scarlet Knights will be a primetime matchup on Sept. 19 at Beaver Stadium.
The game will be shown on the Big Ten Network. The specific kick time will be announced later, and more kick times are expected to be set later this spring.
Penn State will be playing a regular-season night game for the 16th consecutive season.

The Lions and Knights met in the Big Ten opener last season in New Jersey, Rutgers’ first conference game since joining the Big Ten. Penn State rallied for a last-minute, 13-10 win last season.
The teams will be tangling in Beaver Stadium for the first time since 1994.
The contest will kick off the Big Ten season for the entire conference for the second straight year, as the Big Ten will begin its 120th football season.
The meeting will be the 26th in the series between the schools that dates back to 1918, with Penn State holding a 23-2 record.
The Nittany Lions kick off the season Sept. 5 against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, before playing five consecutive home games. The home slate starts with Buffalo on Sept. 12, with visits from Rutgers, San Diego State, Army and Indiana to follow.
Penn State, which finished last season 7-6 overall and 2-6 in the Big Ten, closes spring practices with its annual Blue-White Game at 4 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
The game also will be shown live on BTN, with former Nittany Lion and current Oakland Raider quarterback Matt McGloin part of the broadcast team with play-by-play announcer Scott Graham and sideline reporter Brian Tripp.
