Penn State football: Smith taken by Tampa Bay in second round of NFL Draft

Former Penn State offensive lineman Donovan Smith was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 34th overall pick of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

Smith was the second player taken in the second round, joining No. 1 overall pick and former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay.

Smith started 31 games at left tackle in his last three years at Penn State. Smith earned his degree in criminology in December and chose to forgo his senior season to enter the draft.
