Penn State football: Nittany Lions add to recruiting class

The Penn State football program added another commitment on Tuesday night.

Will Fries, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive lineman from Cranford, New Jersey, has picked the Nittany Lions according to Lions247 and Rivals.com. Lions247 lists Fries as the No. 32 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 12 prospect in New Jersey. Rivals lists him as a four-star prospect, No. 15 for his position and No. 10 in the state.

During his junior season last fall, Fries helped Cranford to an 11-1 record, an average if 249.5 rushing yards per game and a trip to the state championship before falling 20-13 to Parsippany Hills. On defense he made 29 tackles, 10 solo stops and two sacks as a defensive tackle, making five tackles in the state title game.

Fries chose Penn State over Michigan and Rutgers, among a number of schools, and is the 10th known commitment to the next recruiting class, the seventh with a four-star rating from Rivals.
