Tips to Win

For Penn State: Capitalize on the ground in poor weather. This may prove difficult, if top two running backs Saquon Barkley and Akeel Lynch, who were injured last week, don’t play, so the offensive line needs to create space for next-next-next man up Mark Allen to get to work.

For Army: Stuff the run, break out on the ground. This game will be all about who runs better, and which team can stuff a run the best. Army put up over 500 yards rushing last week, but much of that came from dual-threat quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw, who may not play this week due to injury.

Nittany Lion to Watch: Mark Allen may get his time in the spotlight. He scored his first-ever touchdown last week and needs to stabilize Penn State’s rushing attack.

Black Knight to Watch: If Ahmad Bradshaw plays, there is no better person to run Army’s triple option attack. Bradshaw has four rushing touchdowns and more than 300 yards this season, but he can also be a threat in the air.

Key Matchup: Both teams, vs. the weather. It’s expected to be about 47 degrees and rainy at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. The team that can thrive through those conditions may just take the victory.
