Tips to win

For Penn State: The Nittany Lions need to shut down return man William Likely on special teams, and defend a dual-threat quarterback in Perry Hills — last week, Penn State had trouble defending a true dual-threat in a 38-10 loss to No. 1 Ohio State.

For Maryland: Keep the tricks coming. Not only will the Terps utilize their quarterback on the ground, they are prepared to unleash anything they can to win a game in interim head coach Mike Locksley’s debut after a bye.

Nittany Lion to Watch: Freshman running back Saquon Barkley has rammed his rushing yards down the throats of Big Ten opponents, with an average of 194.5 in his two conference appearances, and looks fully healthy as Penn State tries to notch its first road win this season.

Terp to Watch: Likely is not only explosive in the return, but also is a top-notch defensive back and has a huge chance to also see time on offense in trick packages. Penn State’s offense, defense and special teams all have to keep an eye on the speedy Likely.
