Kickers are people too, folks.
Sometimes they’re people who produce music videos to announce their commitments, like the nation’s top-offered kicker recruit Quinn Nordin out of Rockford High in Michigan:

Nordin’s video, posted Friday morning, got quite the reaction, including a pickup on ESPN, and not just because many expected him to pick Michigan over Penn State.
Us specialists do it big too!🄠https://t.co/an2s0hH2rQ— Drue Chrisman (@Drue_Man) July 10, 2015
Other recruits felt Nordin raised the commitment announcement bar, too.
I thought I changed the game w/ my poetic announcement on ESPN... Bro... a Kicker just hopped out a private jet for his commitment ðŸ‚ðŸ‚🂗 PeppyPep (@JabrillPeppers) July 10, 2015
Kickers often have the power to change a game. Looks like Nordin is starting early — the video went Twitter-viral.
But he didn’t do it alone. Nordin’s high school friend, Chandler King, shot and produced the music video.
“He came to me with the idea to make a whole commitment video,” said King. “He pulled the plane, his mom’s friend knew someone who had a plane, and so it all just came together perfectly.”
King said he felt a little “sneaky” knowing where Nordin would commit before the rest of the Internet world did.
“I’m glad I kept my mouth shut and we made it through,” he said. “It’s cool knowing that a video I made on my computer in my room in Rockford is now getting broadcasted on ESPN and all around. And I’m really happy for Quinn.”
Nordin was the highest-rated specialist in the country from the Kornblue Kicking Camp, which ranks the top 50 punters, snappers and kickers in the recruiting class.
The commitment comes just one month after No.1 punter Blake Gillikin announced his commitment to Penn State. The tandem is now the best possible combination of specialists in the 2016 class.
King, whose projects can be found on his Twitter page @chvndlerking, has a commitment announcement of his own: He will be attending Columbia in the fall.
