Penn State 2016 quarterback commit Jake Zembiec announces acceptance into university

Quarterback Jake Zembiec, a solid verbal commit in the Nittany Lions’ recruiting class of 2016, announced via Twitter on Wednesday night his official acceptance into Penn State University.

Zembiec is a 6-foot-3, 211-pound pro-style quarterback who is currently a senior at Aquinas Institute in New York, with a three-star ranking according to 247 Sports composites. In his 35 varsity games, Zembiec has thrown for 4,749 yards and 59 touchdowns, with 24 interceptions. He also has rushed for four touchdowns.

The commit was one of just 18 high school quarterbacks in the country who was selected to participate Nike’s Elite 11 quarterback camp, at which current Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg was a counselor.

Zembiec told PennLive in April that he planned to enroll early into Penn State. Other than Hackenberg, the Nittany Lions have two scholarships filled at quarterback in Trace McSorley and Tommy Stevens.
