Hannah Ehresmann saved 45 shots to preserve a 1-1 tie against No. 8 Quinnipiac on Sunday at the Pegula Ice Arena.

Amy Petersen poked in her own rebound in the third period to tie the game for the Nittany Lions (1-2-1). Shiann Darkangelo had a second-period goal for the Bobcats (2-0-1).

Laura Bowman assisted on Petersen’s goal. Led by Sara Nielsen’s six, Penn State blocked 23 shots in front of Ehresmann.

“I’m really proud of this group for a total team effort as it relates to consistency and response,” head coach Josh Brandwene said. “We had a great response when we faced adversity and I saw a lot of growth for this hockey team that continues to evolve and get better every day.”

Penn State travels to Union on Friday.
