Penn State’s Matthew Skoff was named one of the Big Ten’s three stars of the week Tuesday after his performance during the Nittany Lions’ opening weekend.
Skoff was honored as the third star after a 2-2 tie and 7-1 win against Connecticut, posting a 94.7 save percentage. He made 26 saves in Friday’s tie and 28 in Saturday’s win, including 14 in a busy first period during which Penn State fought off a 5 on 3 advantage and five-minute power play for the Huskies.
It’s the second weekly conference honor for the junior, notching a second star in February.
Penn State visits Alaska for a pair of games this weekend.
