Penn State women’s ice hockey: Nittany Lions beat Union, even record

Celine Whitlinger had a big night in goal as Penn State defeated Union 4-1 Friday night.

Caitlin Reilly had a goal and an assist, Shannon Yoxheimer and Amy Petersen also scored and Sarah Neilsen added an empty-net goal with nine seconds left for the Nittany Lions (2-2-1). Hannah Bramm picked up two assists, and one each came from Hannah Hoenshell, Laura Bowman and Micayla Catanzariti.

Whitlinger made 20 saves, giving up only a third-period score to Kathryn Tomaselli.

The teams meet again at 2 p.m. Saturday.
