Penn State women’s hockey: Nittany Lions skate to tie against Syracuse

Hannah Ehresmann had a busy day in goal and it helped the Penn State women’s ice hockey team to a 2-2 tie with Syracuse on Saturday.

The freshman made 50 saves, including 23 in the first period to help preserve the tie for the Nittany Lions (3-4-3, 0-1-1 CHA).

Amy Petersen’s eighth goal of the season, on a rebound with 3:22 left in the third period during a power play, forced the tie. Laura Bowman netted a first-period goal for Penn State. Petersen, Bowman, Bella Sutton and Shannon Yoxheimer picked up assists.

Alysha Burruss and Jessica Sibley scored for the Orange (2-3-5, 1-0-1).

Penn State visits Colgate next weekend.
