Penn State women’s hockey: RIT shuts out Nittany Lions

Penn State had 22 shots on goal but none of them were able to get in as RIT shut out the Nittany Lions 3-0 in a College Hockey America game on Friday.

The Tigers (6-4-3, 1-1-1) had a goal in every while putting 31 shots on the Penn State net. Celine Whitlinger had 28 saves in the loss for the Nittany Lions (5-5-3, 0-2-1). Both teams were unable to score a power play goal.

Mackenzie Stone, Caitlin Wallace and Jess Paton tallied the goals for RIT, while Ali Binnington posted the shutout.

The teams meet again at 3 p.m. Saturday.
