Penn State women’s hockey: Nittany Lions edge Lindenwood

Laura Bowman recorded two goals and an assist to lead Penn State to a 3-2 win over Lindenwood on Friday night.

The Nittany Lions took the lead with three goals in the second period. Bowman and Kelly Seward picked up assists on Micayla Catanzariti’s goal to get Penn State on the board 44 seconds into the second period.

Bowman then found the back of the net twice. Lindenwood’s Holly Dietzler scored late in the second period and Darby Dodds cut the deficit to 3-2 in the third period.

Penn State goalie Celine Whitlinger made 29 saves as thea team extended its unbeaten streak to four straight.

The Nittany Lions (15-10-4) complete the series with Lindenwood (8-17-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday.
