Following a two-game sweep of Lindenwood last weekend, Penn State’s Celine Whitlinger and Bella Sutton earned honors from College Hockey America on Monday.
Whitlinger earned her sixth Goaltender of the Week award of the season in anchoring the Nittany Lion defense in 1-0 and 3-1 victories in the first round of the CHA Tournament. She made 47 saves and posted a .979 save percentage on the weekend.
Sutton earned Rookie of the Week honors for the first time after scoring twice and assisting on the other goal in Saturday’s 3-1 win.
Penn State faces second-seeded Syracuse in the CHA semifinals on Friday. The game will be played at top-seeded Mercyhurst.
