Penn State will be challenged right from the start, and face four NCAA tournament teams from last season, in a season schedule announced Friday.
The biggest obstacle for the Nittany Lions, who had the program’s first winning record last season at 17-16-4, may be the season’s opening weekend, with defending national champion Minnesota at Pegula Ice Arena for games Oct. 1-2.
Action for the team gets strarted with an exhibition game against Canadian school Guelph on Sept. 24.
Other home dates include Union (Oct. 17-18), Connecticut (Oct. 24-25), Mercyhurst (Nov. 6-7), Robert Morris (Jan. 22-23), Rochester Institute of Technology (Jan. 29-30), Syracuse (Feb. 5-6) and Lindenwood (Feb. 12-13).
