Three goals in the stretch of just over eight minutes of the third period helped Connecticut rally past the Penn State women’s hockey team 4-3 Sunday afternoon at Pegula Ice Arena.
The Huskies got goals from Brittany Berisoff, Caitlin Hewes and Marisa Maccario to earn the win after spotting the Nittany Lions a 3-1 lead.
Jordin Pardoski, Amy Petersen and Hannah England all scored for Penn State, with England’s first career collegiate goal netted 1:26 into the third period.
Berisoff scored 2:03 later to start the UConn comeback. Jordy Zacharias also scored for the Huskies (3-1-2) in the second period, while Annie Belanger stopped 31 shots.

Shannon Yoxheimer picked up two assists for Penn State (3-5) while one each came from Victoria Samuelsson and Laura Bowman, and Hannah Ehresmann made 28 saves.
The Nittany Lions visit Lindenwood next Friday and Saturday.
