Penn State announced three additions to the incoming freshman class after the close of the spring signing period for National Letters of Intent.

Forwards Brandon Biro and Blake Gober and defenseman James Gobetz have been added to the roster.

Biro is a 5-foot-11 product of Sherwood Park, Alberta, the same hometown as current Lion Dylan Richard. Biro scored a team-high 42 goals in 54 games for the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The 5-10 Gober is from Colleyville, Texas, and scored 11 goals and 11 assists for the Bloomington Thunder of the U.S. Hockey League.

Gobetz is a 6-3 defenseman from St. James, N.Y., netting five goals and five assists for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL, after three seasons of high school hockey in Salisbury, Conn.

The additions give the Nittany Lions 11 freshmen on the roster this fall. The season opens Oct. 6 hosting St. Lawrence.
