Maya Hayes scored the game-winning goal in the final minute to give No. 13 Penn State a 3-2 win over Tulsa on Sunday afternoon in the Nittany Lions’ final non-conference match of the season.

Taylor Schram set up Hayes for the winner with 20 seconds left, giving Hayes her team-leading ninth goal of the season. The senior forward has a goal in all but one of the Nittany Lions’ games this year.

Mallory Weber scored the first goal for Penn State (6-1-1), set up by Schram and a long, arcing cross to Weber’s head from Emily Hurd. Tani Costa also scored from a Hurd assist.

Claire Nicholson netted a penalty kick for the Golden Hurricane (5-2) while Camille Pelley’s goal with 4:32 left in regulation set the stage for Hayes’ heroics.
