January 11, 2014 01:11 AM

Penn State goalkeeper Andrew Wolverton picked up a number of honors to reward him for an outstanding season.

The Big Ten’s Goalkeeper of the Year was named Philly Soccer News’ Player of the Year on Friday, the first Nittany Lion to do so since Corey Hertzog in 2010. Additionally, the junior garnered CollegeSoccerNews.com’s second-team All-America mention as well as a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Third Team.

Wolverton played every minute in goal for the Nittany Lions (13-6-2), helping them reach the NCAA sweet 16 for the first time since 2010.
