Kyle MacDonald’s goal snapped a scoreless tie as No. 10 Penn State remained unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Ohio State before a crowd of 1,942 on Sunday at Jeffrey Field.

It marked the second consecutive season that MacDonald scored in the annual Mack Brady Scholarship game, which honors the memory of the son of Christian Brady, dean of the Schreyer Honors College. MacDonald, a junior member of the Schreyer Honors College, has two career goals.

Penn State (6-0-1) outshot the Buckeyes (2-1-3) by a 22-6 margin.

Following a halfime rain shower, the Nittany Lions broke through.

Mikey Minutillo collected a long ball on the left wing about 30 yards from net before playing a pass to Connor Maloney just outside the penalty area. Maloney back-heeled pass went toward net that MacDonald beat Buckeye Alex Ivanov to at the left post to score the game-winner.

Penn State goalie Andrew Wolverton made three saves. The senior has not given up a goal this season.

The Nittany Lions next host Penn at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
