Penn State men’s soccer forward Mikey Minutillo and goalkeeper Andrew Wolverton earned weekly honors from the Big Ten on Monday.
Minutillo was named Offensive Player of the Week after helping the No. 10 Nittany Lions to two wins. Minutillo scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Saint Francis last Tuesday, and he recorded an assist in the Nittany Lions’ 1-0 win over Ohio State on Sunday.
Wolverton shared the Defensive Player of the Week honors with Northwestern goalie Tyler Miller. Wolverton made seven saves the two shutouts against the Red Flash and Buckeyes. He has yet to allow a goal this season, the only Division I goalie to do so, and is tied for first in the conference with five shutouts.
Penn State (6-0-1) will host Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
