Four NCAA Tournament teams, including College Cup participant Stanford, help fill Penn State’s schedule announced Monday.
After an exhibition game against Army on Aug. 15, the season opens with the Penn State Tournament on Aug. 21-23, hosting Hofstra and Loyola Marymount. Duke and Arkansas visit the following weekend (Aug. 28-30) before a visit to West Virginia (Sept. 4) and trip west to meet Stanford and Santa Clara (Sept. 11-13). The Cardinal were in the College Cup semifinals for the sixth time in seven seasons last fall, finishing with a No. 3 ranking.
The Big Ten fills the rest of the schedule with home dates against Wisconsin (Sept. 17), Minnesota (Sept. 20), Maryland (Oct. 8), Indiana (Oct. 11) and Michigan (Oct. 28). The defending conference champions travel to Nebraska (Sept. 25), Iowa (Sept. 27), Northwestern (Oct. 3), Purdue (Oct. 15), Rutgers (Oct. 18) and Ohio State (Oct. 24).
