Three Penn State team members from last season have been continued playing their sport professionally this summer.
Midfielders Owen Griffith and Mikey Minutillo have each been playing overseas, and goalkeeper Andrew Wolverton recently signed with the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer.
It is the first time the Nittany Lion soccer program has sent three men to professional teams in the same year.
Wolverton has seen action in one game for the Galaxy, who drafted the keeper in January. He entered in the second half of a 2-1 win againt Mexican team Club America on July 11.

Griffith and Minutillo have each been getting minutes for their respective foreign teams. Griffith plays for Eastern Suburbs AFC in New Zealand, which has won seven straight matches and leads its league in the Aukland Football Federation with an 11-3 record. Minutillo signed in March with Vestur 07 in the Faroe Islands off the coast of Denmark.
