The Penn State women’s volleyball team closed its trip to Florida with two more wins Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn Homewood Suites Classic.
The No. 3 Nittany Lions (6-1) swept Central Arkansas in the morning 25-20, 25-22, 25-10, then beat tournament host Florida Gulf Coast 25-8, 25-15, 25-17 in the evening.
In the nightcap, Katie Slay led the way with nine kills and four blocks on .818 hitting, with nine kills and six digs for Megan Courtney on .643 hitting. Micha Hancock delivered 31 assists, five digs and three aces, Dominique Gonzalez had 11 digs and Deja McClendon posted six digs.
The Nittany Lions hit .381 for the match with a 39-24 advantage in kills and a 10-2 margin in blocks. The Eagles (1-9) had 24 hitting errors to hit .000 in the contest.

In the morning match against the Sugar Bears (7-2), an NCAA Tournament team in 2012, Penn State got 10 kills and five blocks from Courtney and eight from Ariel Scott. The team also saw 30 assists and three aces from Hancock, eight blocks from Slay and 14 digs from Gonzalez. Penn State hit .247, held Central Arkansas to .151 hitting, had a 12-3 blocking advantage, an 8-0 edge in aces and a 39-35 margin in kills.
The Nittany Lions host the Penn State Classic next weekend, with Albany, Eastern Kentucky and Yale all visiting.
