Haleigh Washington earns another honor for Penn State women’s volleyball

The accolades keep rolling in for Penn State women’s volleyball player Haleigh Washington.

The sophomore earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American honors on Thursday. Washington was recently selected as a member of the AVCA All-Northeast Region team, and collected All-Big Ten honors last week.

On the court, Washington has been dominant, ranking third nationally in hitting percentage while leading Penn State with 1.40 blocks per set.

The middle hitter is among nine Academic All-America honorees who are a member of teams that qualified for the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

The Nittany Lions face Hawaii in the NCAA regional semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.
