Penn State sweeps Harvard in men’s volleyball
Penn State earned its 23rd straight victory in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, sweeping Harvard 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 on Friday.
Chris Nugent’s 19 kills on .433 hitting and Aiden Albrecht’s career-high 13 kills on .433 hitting paced the No. 7 Nittany Lions (7-2, 2-0 EIVA). Matt Seifert posted five blocks while Taylor Hammond and Matt Callaway had four each, and Hammond also gave out 41 assists. Royce Clemens collected a dozen digs.
Brad Gretsch’s nine kills paced the Crimson (3-5, 0-1), which hit .179. Penn State hit .314 with a 45-31 kills lead and a 32-20 advantage in digs. Harvard won the block 10.5-10.
The Nittany Lions visit Sacred Heart on Saturday.
