Bald Eagle Area raced out to a big first-half lead and the unbeaten Eagles coasted in the second half to a 45-35 victory over Central on Friday.
Dennis Fisher, Bryce Greene and Bryan Greene combined for all 17 points as the Eagles (3-0) grabbed a 17-6 lead after one quarter. They pushed the margin to 28-10 at the half and were up by 20 points in the fourth quarter when coach Bill Butterworth emptied the bench.
“So far this season, we’ve been getting out to big leads at halftime,” Butterworth said. “We played good man-to-man defense and threw in a halfcourt trap.”
Brandon Gettig led BEA with 11 points, while Fisher and Bryan Greene added 10 each. Zach Slagenweit had 15 for the Dragons.
