Marissa Ward scored 28 points and had an excellent all-around night to lead Bald Eagle Area to a 63-35 girls’ basketball romp against Bellefonte on Wednesday.
The Lady Eagles (10-1) took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Raiders 19-9 to take a 30-16 halftime lead. Ward had nine points, while Katelyn Miller and Mary Pillot added six and four, respectively, as BEA went 8 for 11 from the floor.
Ward also had eight assists and four steals. “To have that many points and that many assist, that’s a good ballgame for her,” BEA coach Troy Butterworth said of Ward. “She’s a very unselfish player.”
