BELLEFONTE Penns Valley began what will be a difficult week of road boys’ basketball games with a 47-23 victory at Bellefonte on Monday night.
The Rams made short work of a Bellefonte team that mustered just 10 first-half points.
“We tried to put pressure on them and get some turnovers and points off turnovers,” said Rams’ coach Terry Glunt. “Once we got a lead we were able to run our offense until we got something we liked.”
The Rams pounced early with a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, the first of four quarters in which the Raiders were held to single digits in points.

Luke Weaver led all scorers with 10 points, while Dalton Ulmanic had eight and Cameron Tobias contributed six.
Josh Weaver and Trenton Fortney each scored five points for the Raiders.
“I thought it was a great team win tonight,” Glunt said. “I loved the way my kids played defense and took care of the basketball. It was a really solid effort.”
The Rams will head to Tyrone (15-4) on Tuesday and then visit Clearfield on Friday.
“Big week of away games for us,” Glunt said. “This should prepare us well for districts next week.”
