The skinny: The young Lady Red Raiders have quite a bit of returning talent on their roster of 30, but they have just two seniors among them. The group also has a large number of freshmen expected to score points for the team. … The middle- and long-distance group will still be a strength with Kristin Buchanan, who did not run last year, along with Alexis Franks, Anya Hoaglund, Jessica Book and Rachel White. … The sprints have plenty of depth with Sara Caldana, Madeline Durn, Emma Mills, Kiah Cronin, Kaitlyn Womer, Ashleigh Turner and Kaity Devore. … Hurdles also have plenty of depth with Laynie Steen, Ashleigh Turner, Brooke Nadolsky, Olivia Spratt, Emma Mills and Sadie Woodring. … The throwers also should be a strength, with a pair of girls who barely missed qualifying for the PIAA meet last spring. Cassandra Book was second in the shot put and Alexis Franks took third in the discus at the District 6 meet. … Other throwers include Jessica Book, Sadie Woodring and Brooke Shirey. … The jumping group, which is young and inexperienced, includes Kiah Cronin, Morgan Mills, Kaitlyn Womer, Brooke Shirey and Kaity Devore. … Pole-vaulters include Lydia Musser, Kaitlin Rogers and Taylor Lucas.

Coach Miller says: “We are still a young team but seasoned at the same time.”
