The skinny: The Lady Little Lions have a number of returning District 6 champions who competed at the PIAA Championships, including sprinters Lauren Bonness, Chandley Book and Niara Valentine, distance runner Emma Cousins and thrower Kimberly Lightner, along with numerous members of relay teams. The team also has Kaelyn Yoder, who transferred from Penns Valley and ran in the PIAA Class AA 1,600 last spring. … Biggest change is the move to the Mid-Penn Conference and a full league schedule instead of just a handful of dual meets through the season. … Other key people in the sprints are Jenna Altomare and Haley Crawford. … Other key distance runners include Hannah Grubb, Victoria Crawford, Natasha Fedkina, Sarah Almarazooqi, Hannah Catalano and Alyssa Valent. … Top hurdlers include Emily Randolph, Sarah Wylie, Rachel Wylie, Megan Fry and Megan Vonada. … In the jumps, the Lady Little Lions will have Altomare, Olivia Watkins and Najla Robinson leading the way. … Other top throwers include Lauren Ebel, Maddie Marshall and Eve Beaury. … With the graduation loss of Molly Love, who is now at East Carolina, moving to the fore in the pole vault are Kate Nese, Megan Fry and Kinsey Thompson.

Coach Evans says: “We have a very balanced program. We are lucky to have veteran experience and fresh young talent in each area. … . These young women have had excellent mentors and continue to excel to compete at a level that makes us a contender in many of the events at the state meet in May. We will just take it one week at a time to reach our goals.”
