Bald Eagle Area jumped to wins in the first two sets, then endured Huntingdon’s comeback efforts before finally prevailing in five Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles prevailed in the Mountain League girls’ volleyball match 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 19-25, 15-7.
“We lacked some mental focus and that came back to bite us,” BEA coach Larry Campbell said. “It was good to get a win.”
After seeing the Bearcats (0-1) rally, the Lady Eagles (1-1) controlled the final frame by taking the first three points on Regan Dyke’s serve, then adding a six-point run, three on aces, with Jess Bressler serving.

Bressler finished with 38 assists and six aces, while Dyke had 16 digs and seven aces.
“We did a pretty good job with our serving,” Campbell said. “We had a couple targets that we were going after. When we kept it in right areas we did pretty well.”
Nicole Doroschenko had a big match with 21 kills, 10 digs and two blocks. Tylor Yarrison added seven kills and eight digs and Chelsea Eisenhuth had seven kills and three blocks.
