Penns Valley rallied from an early deficit to knock off Philipsburg-Osceola 2-1 Thursday, with Rachel Hodgson netting the game-winner 2:19 into the second half.
Carey McCool tied the match for the Lady Rams after Jordyn Powell had staked the Lady Mounties to an early lead.
“The girls did a nice job of passing the ball around and keeping the pressure on Philipsburg,” Lady Rams coach Jeff Smucker said. “Jordyn Powell is a dangerous player and made a nice early run to score the first goal, but our defense did a nice job of applying more pressure on her when she got the ball in the second half. We stayed patient and were finally able to find the back of the net to end our scoring drought.”
Valerie Kubalak assisted on Hodgson’s score, Kylie Orndorf made one save for Penns Valley and Carley Hahn had nine stops for P-O.
