Central Dauphin turned a tight game at halftime into a decisive win over State College, earning a 53-35 win Tuesday night to open play in the Mid Penn Conference.
The Rams led 26-23 at the break but by the start of the fourth quarter the margin had expanded to 46-27 to all but wrap up the win.
“We came in at halftime and we didn’t feel we needed to make any significant adjustments,” Little Lions coach Drew Frank said. “We needed to prize the ball more at the offensive end, but instead we did the opposite. We had too may turnovers that CD could turn into points. Their transition offense was getting them to the rim and we were fouling them.”
Aaron Gres’ 19 points and Manny Gonzalez’s 12 paced Central Dauphin (1-1).
Bryce Williams’ nine points paced State College (0-3), while Alex McCann added seven.
