Bald Eagle Area recorded four players in double digits as the Eagles climbed to a 41-31 halftime lead in Tuesday’s 73-61 victory over Huntingdon in their season opener.
Bryan and Bryce Greene each scored 14 points to help power the Eagles (1-0), as Brandon Gettig led BEA with 17, and Trey Butterworth added 11. BEA hit 10 3-pointers on the night and shot 81 percent from the foul line to down a much taller Bearcat squad.
“We shot the ball really well against a bigger team tonight,” BEA coach Bill Butterworth said. “We had nice balance offensively with four guys in double digits, and I think our speed offset (Huntingdon’s) size. Our guys gave a pretty good effort tonight.”
Nate Gearhart led Huntingdon (0-2) with 25 points.
