The Penns Valley boys’ basketball team held off Jersey Shore’s comeback attempts for a 60-58 victory Thursday night.
The Rams led 33-25 at halftime and at times had the margin in double digits, but the Bulldogs made it close.
“We did some tightrope walking in the fourth quarter,” Rams coach Terry Glunt said. “We tried to find answers defensively, but they were throwing the kitchen sink at us. They’re a very solid team, a strong team, an athletic team, and it was a nice win. They battled.”
Luke Weaver scored 14 of his game-high 15 points in the second half for the Rams (3-0). Ben Alexander tossed in 10 points and Dalton Ulmanic and Zach Engle each netted eight points.
