State College scored two goals 40 second apart to open the third period as it defeated Shaler 8-5 on Friday night.
“(The) kids came out and skated well,” Little Lions coach Ted Rodgers said. “They played a pretty solid game. It was a wide open game on both sides. Getting those two goals early in the third period was the turning point.”
Andrew Moscone and Lucas Michael scored those third-period goals for State College. Moscone’s was on a power play and Michael’s was short-handed. Moscone finished with two goals and two assists, while Michael had two goals.
State College received two goals from Jared Karas and one each from Sey Yeaple and Andrew Skipper, who added two assists.
